Elin Rosseland have been one of Norway's most respected jazz vocalists and composers since the 1980's, and in 2009 she was honored with the Radka Toneff Memorial Award.

The music on Ekko was commissioned by Midtnorsk Jazzsenter and Jazzfest Trondheim, and was premiered in May 2010. Rosseland picked an ensemble consisting of young talents as well as members from her own quartet Fair Play.
